Well folks, here it is! Race of the Dead! This year's Race of the Dead will be held in Amarillo at the Girl Scout/Pitcher Pump Ranch. It will NOT be held in Lubbock, TX! In any case, good luck and watch out for the headless rider!

 Update on Kay's Status 09/21/2011
It appears that Kay is doing much better at this point. Her crash left her with no more than a concussion and some pretty bad bruises, it looks like she will make a good recovery! Here is the post that she put on her Facebook page that updates her condition: "Thank God for good helmets. Got me a real good concussion, but am alive to talk about it. Helmet cracked in 3 places. No recollection of how or where I went down, how I got up, back on the bike and finished the race? Last I remember is my pedal hitting something? Ambulance ride from Juniper to NW er in Amarillo. Follow up with doctor in Lubbock, few xrays later on rt. arm, no breaks, bad concussion, no biking or exercise other than easy walking for one month! Priceless. So grateful that I am walking and talking. Thanks to everyone who took care of me and who is still taking care of me........................." So, if you have a chance, give Kay your best wishes and let her know how much she means to the West Texas Series! She is an inspiration to all of us! Pain on the Plains and Series Results 09/20/2011
It appears that Pain on the Plains lived up to it's name this year. Everyone keep in your prayers Kay Maddox, who had a really bad crash. She had to be taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
